On the beach
Consulting slang for a consultant who is between engagements and not currently billed to any client.
On the beach in practice
Hypothetical: between a diligence engagement and the next assignment, an associate is unstaffed for two weeks and uses the time to document lessons learned. This is not an asserted case event.
