Tail-end fund
A fund near the end of its life holding its last unsold positions.
Tail-end fund in practice
Hypothetical: a fund in its tenth year retains interests in two investments while evaluating exit options and any permitted extension. Ten years is an illustration, not a universal cutoff, and the remaining holdings need not be wholly owned companies.
