Take rate
Defined platform revenue or fees divided by the corresponding transaction volume for the same period. It measures revenue relative to transaction flow, not profit, and comparisons require consistent definitions.
Take rate in round numbers
Hypothetical: in one month, a platform handles US$100 of defined transaction volume and earns US$15 of platform fee revenue on those transactions. Its fee-based take rate is 15 ÷ 100 = 15%, before costs. The example makes no claim about profit or whether accounting rules require gross or net revenue presentation.
