Tiger team
A small, dedicated group pulled together to solve one urgent problem fast, often deployed inside a struggling portfolio company.
Tiger team in practice
Hypothetical: a manufacturer with two mills discovers a quality problem at one mill. It assigns three operators to a temporary tiger team for an initial two-week investigation and repair effort. The team tests whether the fix holds before handing responsibility back to the regular operators; two weeks is a planned assignment, not a guaranteed repair time.
